Modern Marvels: The St. Louis Arch

Completed in 1965 using 40,000 tons of steel, the 630-foot-tall St. Louis Arch is the largest of its kind, not to mention a feat of modern engineering: This History Channel program tells its story. Through documentary footage of its construction, interviews with its architects and engineers, and historical data, viewers learn how this landmark on the banks of the Mississippi made the journey from sketchbook to reality.
